Vrijthof and Onze-Lieve-Vrouweplein
The two main squares of the old town, with terraces, churches and the Bonnefantenmuseum across the river.

Boekhandel Dominicanen
A 13th-century church turned bookshop. One of the most beautiful in Europe, free to visit.

Forts and Mount Saint Peter
Walk or cycle from the campsite to the marl caves and old defences. Two relaxing hilly hours.

Valkenburg by bike
Follow the Meuse route north, twenty kilometres through the hills, back along the water. Castle and caves as a reward.

Markets
Wednesday and Friday there's a fresh market on Markt square. Bread, cheese, fish and vlaai.

Into Belgium
Ten minutes and you're across the border. Visé, Eijsden and Maaseik are all within cycling range.
